Responsible Gaming

PartyGaming is committed to responsible gaming. We seek to provide a secure and responsible online gaming environment through compliance with industry best practice.

Certifications and industry affiliations

PartyGaming was one of the first online operators to be certified by GamCare, a registered UK charity and an authority on the provision of information, advice and practical help in addressing the social impact of gambling. Our operations meet GamCare's Social Responsibility Code of Conduct for responsible gaming that requires operators to have age verification systems, customer led controls for spend and session play, and customer service training.

In addition, we are a member of the Interactive Gaming Council, an organisation that has established policies and practices to guide the gaming industry. We are also members of other industry consortiums that aim to promote probity and responsibility in the conduct of the online gaming industry.

How to gamble responsibly

PartyGaming's position on responsible gaming is clear: we want everyone who gambles at one of our online sites to be there for the right reason - to have fun. However, while most players enjoy gambling, we are aware that a small percentage may try and gamble when under the legal age limit or might find that gambling has assumed too large a role in their life.

Subscribers to our brands are able to set their own pay-in limits and/or implement our self-exclusion tools.

In addition, we provide information to help you stay in control and assess your gambling habits:

Stay in control

While the majority of people do gamble within their means, for some it can spiral out of control. In order to help you keep control, we would like them to remember the following:

  • Gambling should be entertaining and not seen as a genuine way of making money
  • Avoid chasing losses
  • Only gamble what you can afford to lose
  • Keep track of the time and amount of money you spend gambling
  • If you need help, use the deposit limits and time limits on the player protection page to control the amount you can spend
  • If you need to have a break from gambling, you can use our exclusion options within the player protection section

Assess your gambling habits

Online gambling is another form of entertainment and it is essential for players to understand that. If gambling has placed a burden on your life either financially or emotionally, we suggest you ask yourself the following questions:

  • Have you ever lost time from work or education due to gambling?
  • Has gambling ever made your home life unhappy?
  • Has gambling affected your reputation?
  • Have you ever felt remorse after gambling?
  • Have you ever gambled to get money with which to pay debts or otherwise solve financial difficulties?
  • Has gambling caused a decrease in your ambition or efficiency?
  • After losing do you feel you must return as soon as possible and win back your losses?
  • After a win do you have a strong urge to return and win more?
  • Do you often gamble until all of your money has gone?
  • Do you ever borrow to finance your gambling?
  • Have you ever sold anything to finance gambling?
  • Are you reluctant to use "gambling money" for normal expenditures?
  • Does gambling make you careless of the welfare of yourself or your family?
  • Do you ever gamble longer than you had planned?
  • Have you ever gambled to escape worry or trouble?
  • Have you ever committed or considered committing, an illegal act to finance gambling?
  • Does gambling cause you to have difficulty in sleeping?
  • Do arguments, disappointments or frustrations create within you an urge to gamble?
  • Do you ever have an urge to celebrate any good fortune by a few hours of gambling?
  • Have you ever considered self-destruction or suicide as a result of your gambling?

Prevent underage gambling

PartyGaming does not allow anybody under the age of 18 to play on our sites. This is in compliance with the Gaming Ordinance of the Government of Gibraltar. In order to ensure that minors do not play, we are required to obtain the name, address, sex and age of all our customers. We also ensure that all advertising, sponsorship and promotional activity is not targeted at those under the age of 18, again in compliance with the Gibraltar Gaming Ordinance.

The Interactive Gaming Council guidelines we follow include implementing controls to limit access by minors.

Here are some easy steps to help you prevent minors from logging on and gambling without your knowledge:

  • Use child protection software to block gaming sites from under 18s
  • Do not leave children unattended when you play on the software
  • Do not share your credit card or bank account details with minors
  • Do not leave the "Save Password" option enabled on the gaming software login screens
  • Create separate profiles for your children on computers, so that when they log in they cannot access your information

If you know someone under the age of 18 who is registered with us, please contact us immediately.
