2008 Annual Report Wins Three Prestigious Awards

PartyGaming, the world’s leading listed online gaming company, is proud to announce that it has won three prestigious awards for its 2008 Annual Report, ‘Site Years Ahead’, from Accountancy Age and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA), which works closely with governmental and regulatory bodies to promote and support best practice in all areas of corporate governance.

Winning the ‘Annual Report of the Year’ award from Accountancy Age, PartyGaming was praised by an independent panel of judges for producing a report that was: “Easy to navigate. It was good to read something without jargon they got the key messages across very clearly and did a great job of communicating the measurement of corporate social responsibility issues.”

Gavin Hinks, editor of Accountancy Age, added:

“PartyGaming has always tried to make its annual reports stand out from the crowd, and this year its efforts have paid off.  They set out to deliver best practice reporting and produce a report that reflects the exciting nature of their business - this report certainly achieves that.”

PartyGaming was also a double winner at the inaugural ICSA Hermes Transparency in Governance Awards for the Best Practice Disclosure on Strategy and Best Practice Disclosure on Stakeholder Engagement categories for FTSE250 companies.

These awards are a new initiative launched by the ICSA, the world’s leading authority on corporate governance, in partnership with Hermes Equity Ownership Services and seek to identify and reward high standards of disclosure, with the aim of encouraging improvements both in the disclosure process and in governance. They are backed by the Government, the Financial Reporting Council, the Association of British Insurers, the Confederation of British Industry and the Financial Times newspaper.

Martin Weigold, Group Finance Director of PartyGaming, said:

“We are delighted that our Annual Report has again been recognised as ‘best in class’. These awards reflect the high importance we place on corporate governance, transparency and corporate and social responsibility. They are a testament to the professionalism and endeavours of all of our employees.”

Clive Bidwell, Head of Corporate Reporting at Radley Yeldar, which designed and produced PartyGaming’s 2008 Annual Report, said:

“We would like to congratulate PartyGaming for its success at the Accountancy Age and ICSA Awards. These awards are well-deserved recognition of the value which they place on best practice reporting.”
